The Daring Class Association and Lallows Boatyard have prepared a number of Darings for charter for as little as £100 a day.
A Daring is a 33′ GRP one-design version from a classic 5.5 metre that was once an Olympic class. Over 30 Darings have been built since 1961 and they are widely considered to offer the best keelboat racing on the South Coast. Carrying two sizes of spinnaker, and three to four crew, these yachts are powerful performers in all conditions.
The Daring Class Association and Lallows Boatyard have prepared a number of Darings for charter for as little as £100 a day. Throughout the season we muster a fleet of 10-15 boats on the start line, reaching a peak of over 25 competitors during Cowes Classics Week and Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week. The one-design ethos of the class gives every boat a chance of performing well. Although there are a few consistently high performers, the class possesses an
impressive range of trophies that are all keenly contested every year. The Daring Class also competes enthusiastically in various International Team Racing events.
The Daring Class welcomes both new and experienced sailors to become part of its sociable and competitive community based in Cowes.
Prices start from £100 per day for weekend races, with charters also available for Cowes Classics and Cowes Week.
The charter fleet is available to members and non-members of the Daring Class. The charter boats will be identified on the water and experienced Daring sailors are expected to show the tolerance and courtesy towards novice Daring sailors, for which the Class has a valued reputation.
All enquiries for charter should be directed to Lallows by telephone on 01983 292112 or e-mail: email@example.com
The Daring Class is very grateful to the owners, who have agreed to include their Darings in the scheme, and to Lallows boatyard for supplying one of the Darings in the charter fleet and managing the programme, thus making this venture possible.
